Advantages
- For bath care in the washing area and for average cleaning requirements
- Low equipment costs
- Well suited as a preliminary stage for ultrafiltration and evaporation systems
Disadvantages
- Emulsion cannot be separated
- Long dwell times and consequently significant space required for high throughputs
- Degreasing effect less than with separators
